Time to finish the body!
Pull up the last loop, leaving a little ring of yarn.
Cut your yarn, leaving a nice long tail (about 12 inches long).
Loop the yarn tail through the last stich loop and pull tight.
Get your yarn needle out. It’s time to sew a little bit!
Thread the yarn tail of your Little Buddy through the needle. Pull about 3 inches of yarn through the needle.
Insert needle in the 1st stitch right next to the knot you made. Bring the needle back up through the next stitch. Repeat this all the way around. Once you get all the way around the stitches, pull the yarn through the stitches until it has made a tight bunch and the hole is closed.
Tie off the yarn by sticking the needle through the last stitch, pulling the yarn through, but leaving a loop.
Stick the needle through the loop and pull tight. Do this twice to make sure the stitches will hold tight.
To get rid of the rest of the tail ,stick the excess down into the inside of the body. You now have your buddy’s body complete!
Let’s finish its face and give it some hair!
To add hair, take one strand of the hair pieces at a time. Fold the strand in half. Take your crochet hook and stick it through one of the stitch holes and out the other side of the stitch, making sure you’re hooked through only one stitch.
Take the hair strand and place the loop you created by folding it in half on the hook. Pull the hook through the stitch, but DO NOT pull the hair strand all the way through. Only pull the hook through until the loop of the hair strand comes through. Take the hook and grab the two hair strand ends and pull them through the loop on the crochet hook.
Pull the two strand pieces until it is snug on the head. Repeat throughout the top of the head until you add all the hair you want. You can also double up on spots to make the hair extra thick. You can also give your little buddy a hair cut if you want shorter hair.
Now, let’s add a mouth and teeth.
Make a mouth from the black felt sticker as well as the teeth from the white sticker. Peel of the backing of the sticker and place them on the front of your monster where you want the mouth to be. Do the same for the teeth. Peel the backing off of the each tooth and place where it where you want.
Lastly, you need to pick a name!
What will your little buddy’s name be?
